Winning in the AHL important to Anaheim Ducks

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — With six games left in the regular season, the Norfolk Admirals are one game behind the Hershey Bears for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

While the main purpose of the Admirals is to develop players for the Anaheim Ducks, Admirals General Manager Bob Ferguson told the Sportswrap that winning at the AHL level is important, too.

“Some organizations think that it’s all about player development in the minor leagues,” Ferguson said.

“It’s one thing to develop players that go into the NHL, but we want them to go up and win in the NHL, and that starts down here in Norfolk.”

The Admirals return home to Scope on Wednesday against the Hershey Bears.
