Tides offense wakes up in 6-3 win over Durham

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk’s somewhat slumping offense woke up in the sixth inning, and the Tides took down visiting Durham 6-3, snapping a 3-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon.

Jamile Weeks proved to the catalyst on a windy afternoon at Harbor Park. The speedy weeks went 3-of-4 at the plate, including his RBI that first put Norfolk on the board in the fourth inning.

He also got things started for the Tides in the sixth inning with a shot to the gap in left field, which he turned into a triple. Catcher Caleb Joseph sent Weeks home with a single to left center, and the Tides lead 2-1.

The home team added another score after a Bulls wild pitch. Third baseman David Adams followed that up with a 2-run homer out to right field.

The two teams square off again at Harbor Park Monday at noon.
